My Friend Flicka by Mary O’Hara. Copyright 1941.

My Friend Flicka is a classic novel about a horse. I’ve read the sequel and saw the movie. I think I got this one at a library sale. I get a lot of my books from garage sales, flee markets, and library sales.

I like to have a bookmark in all my books, so I won’t turn down the corners like I did when in middle school. I notice there is none in this book so I must find one.

The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom with John and Elizabeth Sherrill. Copyright 1971.

Another book by my favorite authors so you know it is going to be good reading. Corrie ben Boom tells how they hid Jews during World War II. They were caught and sent to a concentration camp where they all died except for Corrie. She was eventually released and spent the rest of her life telling how God was with them.

The Cross and the Switchblade by David Wilkerson with John and Elizabeth Sherrill. Copyright 1963.

This book is the true story of how God sent David Wilkerson to New York to work with the gangs. The work eventually evolved into Teen Challenge and spread around the world. It is exciting reading. In fact, most books by John and Elizabeth Sherrill are exciting reading. They are a couple of my favorite authors. David Wilkerson is the story teller and they are the authors. David Wilkerson is no longer with us as he was killed in an auto accident a few years ago.

God Is Politically Involved, by Lon Mabon. Copyright 1998

Another confession. I haven’t read this book either. Lon Mabon was a teacher of an adult Sunday School class I was in. A good teacher, too. I know the title is true and I have more interest in politics now, so I shall put this on my list to read.

When Nature Speak–The Life of Forrest C. Shaklee, Sr. by Goerges Spunt. Copyright 1977

They say confession if good for the soul. I have a confession to make: I have never read this book. Why would I keep a book I have never read? I use Shaklee products. The supplements are made of organic plants and the cleaning products are biodegradable. I trust the company. Since starting the blog, I have already reread one book, Mrs. Mike, and I shall soon read this one.

From The Orange Mailbox by A. Carman Clark. Copyright 1985

This book was given to me by a dear friend. It is not a book you need to read straight through but can jump in any where. Arley Clark writes about the seasons on her land in Maine. A chapter for each month about the plants, trees and animals.

Mrs. Mike” by Benedict and Nancy Freedman. Copyright 1947, new edition 2002.

When I was a child, my mother read us a story serialized in the Cappers Weekly magazine. One summer while working at Mackinaw City in Michigan, I saw this book and recognized the title immediately and bought it. Mrs. Mike was Katherine Flannigan who married a Canadian Mountie. The book is a novel but Katherine Flannigan was a real person.
